A private graveside service for Zelda Elizabeth Horton, 86,  will be held at Conehatta Methodist Church Cemetery. This service is limited to the family, with Covid restrictions of social distancing. There will be no public viewing.

Zelda was born in the Conehatta community to Marvin and Ida Horton. Zelda graduated high school and lived in Conehatta until she started to work in Meridian, Mississippi.
Over the years, she worked as the bookkeeper for a music store and florist in Meridian. She was a devoted sister to Sarah, previously living near her to help drive, cook, grocery shop, before she and Sarah confined to nursing care center, several years ago.

A quiet soul, she was humble, smart, and good-hearted, always putting the needs of others over herself.

She is much loved and will be missed.

She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Marvin and Ida Horton; one brother: Willie Robin Horton; one sister: Helen Rae Johnson.
