UNION: Services for Mr. Thomas Alford Miller will be held 3 pm, Monday, February 12, 2024 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial in the County Line Cemetery. Bro. Chester Carlisle will officiate.

Visitation will be held 1 -3 pm, Monday at Milling Funeral Home of Union.

Thomas Alford Miller, 89, of Union, MS went to his eternal heavenly home on February 7, 2024 after a courageous fight with bone cancer.  He is survived by his wife, Jane; one daughter, Pamela DeWitt and husband Fred of Union; two sons, Thomas Allen Miller and wife Sandra of North Carolina, Timothy Glenn Miller of Union; grandchildren, Matthew Miller and wife Laysa, Megan Miller and Fiancé' Mike Pettinato, Justin Miller and wife Kristen and Joshua Miller and Fiancé' Hannah Austin and great grandchildren, Evelyn, Callen and Desmond Miller.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Delmos Miller and Alice Chesney Miller; sister, Norma Covington and four brothers, Hubert Miller, James Miller, Jimmy Miller and Lester Miller.

Thomas was a quiet, humble and giving man who adored Jane, his wife of nearly 72 years.  He was devoted to his family and raised them up by his own example to love the Lord, to work hard, and to treat others with respect.

A devout Christian, Thomas prayed for and was willing to help anybody in need.  He was a faithful and long-time member and deacon of Bethany Baptist Church in Peoria, IL, where he lived for many years.  He retired from Edward Hine Printing Company and then moved back home to Mississippi.  More recently he was a committed and generous member of Grace Baptist Church in Philadelphia, MS.

Always with a smile (whether golfing, on his tractor, motor homing throughout the US, or cooking on the grill) Thomas lived life to its fullest.  His favorite Bible verse was 2 Corinthians 5:17 and his favorite expression was "If I can't fix it, it ain't broke."

The family would like to thank Emily Edwards and the rest of the Quality Hospice Care team for their compassionate care for Thomas and their love and support for the entire family throughout this very difficult time.
