Christian Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 9:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, Louisiana for Thomas Gary Etie, age 69, who died on Friday, November 25, 2022 with his family at his side.
Interment will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss, Louisiana at 12:00 PM on Thursday December 1, 2022.
Deacon Randy Hyde will be conducting the funeral services. The Eulogy will be given by Jackie Etie and Billy Harrison.
The family will receive family and friends at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 8:00 AM until time of services.
Gary was a resident of Lafayette and was employed at Service Chevrolet for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved traveling with his childhood friends, "The group of Six". Gary loved being with his family, and spending time in Mississippi with his brother.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory, his brother Robert Sidney Etie and wife, Jackie, one niece, Stephanie Wilson (Marc); two nephews Clay Etie (Stacy) and Errol Etie (Becky). Five great nieces and nephews Victoria Trahan (Lance), McKenzie Fruge (Tyler), Sydney Fritz (Gage), Lillian Fruge, and Colsen Etie; and four great great nieces and nephews, Bray Trahan, Asher Fruge, Alexandra Adams and Kyzer Fritz.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney Mack Etie and Malva Salter Etie; and great-great niece Presleigh Trahan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Luquette, Billy Harrison, Bill Clooney, Richard Henke, David Dawson, Richard Domingues, Aubrey Cole and Errol Etie.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marc Wilson, Charles Hereford, and Danny Hereford.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Church or charity of your choice in memory of Thomas Gary Etie.
