Union: Funeral services for Ms. Tanya Burroughs will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial in the Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pastor Chad Holmes will officiate.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Ms. Burroughs, age 66, of Decatur died Sunday, September 28, 2025.

She was a graduate of Meridian High School Class of 1976. Later in life, she went back to college and graduated at MSU Meridian with a bachelor degree in education.

She worked several years at Newton Walmart and then during her teaching career. She also worked at Newton Municipal Schools and Newton County School District.

Tanya was loved by many and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

2 Daughters: Hailey Zettler (JJ) and Heather Dillon (Evan)

7 Grandchildren: Henry, Aubrey, Dexter, Halen, Cohen, Natalie and June

Siblings: Anthony Clearman (Jackie), Kim Thomas (Robert) and Kevin Clearman (Kelli)

Mother: Eloise Clearman

Brother In Law: Curtis Fancher

Tanya was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Burroughs; father, Charlie Clearman; daughter, Cammie Lewis and sister, Shelia Fancher.

Pallbearers: Robert Thomas, Charlie Thomas, Jamie Clearman, Gavin Clearman, Curtis Fancher and Henry Ross
