Funeral Services for Mr. Stanley Duane Jones will be held 11 a.m., October  9, 2023 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Bro. Tod Harrison and Bro. Rusty Walton will be officiating.  Burial will be in  Rock Branch Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 Monday ,October  9, 2023 prior to services in chapel.

Stanley Duane Jones, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2023.  He was born November 21, 1945, the middle son of Lee Allen Jones and Josephine Elizabeth Howell Jones.  He followed his father's example in a 37 year career on the railroad.  He also served in the Army National Guard from 1963-1979.

He will be most remembered for his steadfast love and devotion to his family.  He was a faithful son, brother, husband, and father; however his greatest joy was in being called "Poppy" by his two grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Laura Sessions Jones, who provided him with tender and compassionate care in his last days; a daughter, Heather and husband Johnny Patchin of Union; a son, Jason Jones of Union; granddaughter; Natalie Rigby and husband Parker of Union; grandson Trevor Patchin of Union; and a brother Michael Jones and wife Paulette of Meridian, Sister-in-law Paula Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Jo Jones, and a brother, Carroll Jones.
