Union: Graveside services for Mr. Stanley Henley will be held at 4:00pm, Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Golden Grove Cemetery. Bro. Kelly Tingle will be officiating.
Stanley Lee Henley, age 76, passed away from this life on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko, MS.
Stanley was born in Union, MS on December 29, 1946, to James Robert "J.R." and Dorothy Killen Henley. He grew up in and lived most of his life in Neshoba County.
At the age of nineteen, Stanley answered the call of duty to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. He was a decorated soldier of the Vietnam War having received the Rifle Marksmanship Badge and the distinguished Purple Heart Medal, which he earned by taking on shrapnel while engaged in a heated fire fight with the enemy. He was extremely proud of his honors. During his tour with the Marines, he achieved the rank of Corporal and bravely served his platoon as Squad Leader. While in Vietnam, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized in the Ben Hai River along with several of his comrades.
He was a member of Enon Baptist Church in Union, MS where in his younger years, heloved taking the boys of the church on wild camping adventures filled with tall tales and silly shenanigans.
A prankster by nature, nothing thrilled him more than stringing along family and friends with his outlandish, straight-faced stories. He was well known for his sneaky wit and dry sense of humor.
Stanley was also a 56-year member of the Freemasons and theHenry Clay Masonic Lodge #485 where he achieved the degree of Master Mason, as well as title of Past Master.

His devoted daughters: Tracy Kilpatrick and husband Reed; Jill Warren and fiancé Dusty Edwards.
Loving sisters: Sherry Griffin, Janice Stroud and Linda Chaney
6 Grandchildren: Tyler Kilpatrick, Trea Williams, Ryan Kilpatrick, Jaiden Boswell, William Edwards, Harper Edwards
6 Great Grandchildren: Emmy Bradley, Declan Kilpatrick, Kacen Boswell, Dani Williams, Korbyn Boswell, Ellie Williams
Serving as Pallbearers: Tyler Kilpatrick, Trea Williams, Ryan Kilpatrick, James Henley, Patrick Griffin, Eli Warren
Serving as Honorary Pallbearer: Jaiden Boswell
Mr. Henley will be laid to rest beside his beloved brother, James "Jimmy" Henley in the Golden Grove community cemetery of Neshoba County.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International in memory of our loved one.
