Services for Ms. Shirley J. McMahan will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. prior to the service with burial to follow at Hebron Missionary Baptist Church. Bro. Roger Laird and Bro. Mike Powell will officiate.

Bro. Harold Laird will be performing special music while Mickey and Karen McMahan will be conducting the congregational music.

Ms. Shirley J. McMahan, age 85, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian.

Survivors:

Children: Mike McMahan, Angela Rowzee and husband Darrell, and Bryan McMahan, Sr. and wife Lisa.

7 Grandchildren:  Meagan Chaney and husband Jody, Daniel McMahan, Carrie Chouest and husband Julien, Eric Rowzee and wife Madelyn, Bryan McMahan Jr.  and wife Ashley, Amy Hardy, and Kacy Frantz and husband Chad.

7 Great Grandchildren: Morgan, Macie, and Jonah Chaney; Sophie Chouest, Jonathan and Caroline Hardy, and William Frantz.

She is also survived by 2 sister-in- laws: Sue Jackson and Debbie Jackson along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Ms. McMahan is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Hayes McMahan; Parents: Johnnie Pearl Robertson Jackson and Van Buren Jackson; Siblings: Joe Jackson, Kathy Polizzi, Dale Jackson; and Brother-in-law, George Polizzi.

Pallbearers will be Jody Chaney, Josh Caldwell, Keith McMahan, Paul McMahan, Richard Rivers, and Robert Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Laird and Jimmy Wyatt.

She was a very faithful and long time member of Hebron Missionary Baptist Church where she served as church secretary many years ago. Her favorite past times included working in her many flower gardens and reading books. Before retiring, she worked as a cashier at Winn Dixie and was in the banking industry for many years.
