Sebastopol:

Services for Mrs. Shirley Evans will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2024, at High Hill Baptist Church and will be live streamed in the fellowship hall. Burial will take place at High Hill Baptist Cemetery

Due to family sickness, visitation for Mrs. Evans will be cancelled. Service will be live streamed in the fellowship hall at 12 noon.

Bro. Don Cook will officiate.

Mrs. Evans, 79, of Sebastopol, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

Survivors:

Husband of 63 years, Robert Evans

2 Sons: Barry Evans (Donna) and Kevin Evans (Kirstie)

3 Grandchildren: Conner Evans, Carlee Evans and Jeremy Evans

1 Brother: Thomas Lee Watkins (Karen)

4 Nieces and 5 Nephews

Numerous great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, as well as friends and other family members.

Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by parents, Reginald Ray and Bessie Gene Johnson Watkins, brothers, Ernest Wade Watkins and Herschel Ray Watkins

Shirley Evans was born and raised in Leake County. She was a member of High Hill Baptist Church, and had also attended East Howard Baptist Church of Biloxi, and McDowell Road Baptist Church of Jackson. Areas resided in include Biloxi, Jackson, and the Madden Community. Mrs. Evans was a member of several organizations, including the Dancing Rabbit Genealogical Society, the Madden Friendship Club, and the Newton County Genealogical and Historical Society. She found joys in hobbies such as sewing, fishing, and reading. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
