Union: Services for Mrs. Shawntal Mayes Stamper will be held at 10am, Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Clarke Venable Baptist Church. Burial will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton County. Rev. Mark Vincent and Rev. Shaun Selman will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Milling Funeral Home of Union. A one hour visitation will be held prior to services at Clarke Venable Baptist Church on Thursday.
Shawntal Stamper, age 46, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023. In 1996, at the age of 18, Shawntal went to work at Great Southern Bank and continued her career during her battle with cancer. Her committed and loving coworkers, known as her "tribe", took care of her and made it possible for her to continue working during these hard times. Shawntal was very grateful and loved her "tribe" dearly.
She was a member of the Newton County Junior Auxiliary.
Shawntal enjoyed fishing, car racing, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, great mom, outstanding daughter, and a friend to all that met her.
She was an active member of Clarke Venable Baptist Church.
Shawntal's favorite Bible Verse: Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Shawntal is preceded in death by her brother: Jeremy Mayes, grandparents: Garland & Glenda Jeffcoats and Sam & Neva Dee Mayes, great-grandmother: Allie Jewel Gregory, and father-in-law: James H. Stamper.
Pallbearers: Brent Mayes, Kent Mayes, Douglas Mayes, Wesley Mayes, Robbie Gregory, Chris Vaughn and Hayden Mayes
