Scottie Patricia Smith, 88, was born on July 4, 1937, in Conehatta, Mississippi, and passed away on Jan. 5, 2026, at JG Alexander Nursing Center in Union, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Albert "Chip" Smith; her parents, Edwin and Jessie (Scott) Graham; and her sister, Pete Graham Smith.
Scottie was quick-witted and hard-working. She co-owned the infamous Chip's Café in Sebastopol, Mississippi, where she made many long-lasting memories and formed friendships that endured through the years.
She is survived by her beloved son, Jeffrey D. Smith (Bethney); her three grandsons: Jesse Smith (Tabitha), Jake Smith (Terri), and Joel Smith; two great grandchildren: Callie Smith and Brynlee Smith
Visitation will take place at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Officiating will be Bro. Tim Fanguy.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, with internment to follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Jesse Smith, Jake Smith, Joel Smith, Lath Harrell, Kevin Butts and Charlie Cooksey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Allen Shaw and Chuck Allen.
Scottie will be lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her
