Services for Mrs. Sara Tucker will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union.

Visitation will be held 1:30- 3:00 prior to services at Milling Funeral Home of Union. Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Congregational Methodist Cemetery in Newton County. Bro. William Savell and Bro. Rusty Walton will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Kendall Harris, Cole Mohon, Jim Stoker, Tony Potts, Miles Garrison, and Dwight Geist. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Sara Lois Sularin Hudson Tucker died on July 7, 2023 at the age of 86.  She was born to Presley and Sallie Sularin in Fayette, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine other siblings: Mona Sularin, Annie Potts, Bill Sularin, Ruby Plyler, Betty Garrison, Jean Sularin, Ray Sularin, Martha Faye Sularin and Bobby Sularin.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas Charles Tucker; half-sister, Susan Peterson; daughters, Stacey Wangerin (Paul), Cindy Horton (Cain); step-children, Robby Tucker (Lisa) son of Thomas Charles Tucker, Ron Hudson (Deborah), Carol Robbins, Sherry Robinson, Rod Hudson (Denise), and Tanya Porter(Vic),children of deceased ex-husband Norman Hudson; and Joey Ponthieux (children Sarah, John and William); grandchildren, Jessica Long, Kendall Harris, Cole Mohon and Hannah Mohon; step grandchildren Carley Langston (Giles) and Mallory Burchfield (Jonathan); three great-grandchildren, Xander Long, Jeremiah Long, and Maverick Long; and two step-great-grandchildren, Blake Langston and Tucker Burchfield.

Sara was born on January 1, 1937 in Fayette, Alabama where she lived until she graduated from high school.  She moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she worked at St. John's Hospital as a Surgical Technician. She moved back to Alabama where she attended and graduated Licensed Practical Nursing training from Shelton Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  She worked in Jackson, Mississippi at the Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic; Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg; then for many years at the Treatment Center in Jackson as a LPN and X-ray technician where she retired in 2001. She was a care-taker for her mother-in-law, Sarah Goldberger until 2013.

Sara attended Pinckney Baptist Church in Union, Mississippi.  She loved her church and her church friends where she served as the Church Clerk for many years, sang in the choir, assisted as choir leader, church decorator and in other areas, which she enjoyed immensely.

Sara was a kind, loving, and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother. Her Christian faith and relationship with Christ were most important to her.  Her children and grandchildren were her greatest loves; she loved gathering with family and cooking, always looking forward to her annual family reunion in Fayette, Alabama where she gathered with her nieces, nephews and extended family. She loved working in her flower beds, going to flea markets, and singing.  She never met a stranger and loved talking and laughing with those she met.
