UNION: Graveside services for Mr. Samuel "Sammy" Everett will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Hickory City Cemetery. Dr. Randy Rich will be officiating the service.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at Milling Funeral Home of Union prior to graveside service.

Samuel Green Everett, 78, passed away Friday April 4, 2025 at his home in Hickory, MS. He was born March 7, 1947 in Jackson, MS. His parents were Betty Moore Everett and William Johnson Everett. He grew up in Jacksonville Beach, FL and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1966.

He then attended East Central Community College in Decatur, MS where he played football. He then enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1968 and began working fulltime for the Mississippi Highway Department in Newton, MS as a draftsman and then as the district permit officer until he retired at age 59.

Sammy enjoyed a lot of outdoor activities including fishing, kayaking, mountain biking, bird watching and yard work. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Sammy was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Mike Everett, his nephew, Everett Duran, his mother, Betty Moore Everett, and his father, William Johnson Everett.

He is survived by his children, Dawn Cavenaugh (Adrian) of Brandon, MS, Elon Espey (Keith) of Chunky, MS, and Josh McCullough (Kayla) of Garlandville, MS; his grandchild, Reed Fisher, Owen Fisher, Olivia Fisher, Ella Fisher, Ava Espey, Tristan McCullough and Tana McCullough;
and his siblings, Jimmy Kittrell of Jacksonville, FL, Ben Everett (Margie) of Bastrop, TX, and Frances Duran (Larry) of Noxapater, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews. ____________________________
