Memorial Services for Paul Elton Winstead will be held 2 pm, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Pine Grove Baptist Church (House, MS), 13281 Hwy 492 Union, MS with Bro. Scott Engle officiating.
A private graveside service will follow at the church cemetery.
Paul Elton Winstead, age 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 09, 2024, at Chalet Nursing Rehabilitation Center (Hospice).
He was born in Union, Mississippi on June 20, 1942.
He graduated from Neshoba Central High School in 1960. He was in the FFA and played in the FFA Band. After graduation, he joined the Army and served in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a US Vietnam Era War Veteran.
Paul could play any stringed instrument and a little bit of the harmonica. He loved to sing solos and play his guitar in church as often as he could.
He worked many jobs throughout his life, including being an "over the road truck driver" and a market manager.
He loved fishing. He also taught his grandchildren, Emily and CJ how to fish. He gave them nicknames, Emily was "Meme" and CJ was "Cootie Junior". He was like a father to them.
Paul loved the Lord.
Despite having health issues, he was always joking around and smiling.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father.

3 Daughters: Elinda Ruth Hagan of Clearwater, Florida; Pamela Ellen Edwards of Union, Mississippi and Jennifer Lynn Dorman of Gulf Breeze, Florida

1 Sister: Rachel Winstead Boler of Collinsville
He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, John Elton Winstead; his mother, Barnie Butts Winstead; his brother, Jerry Winstead; his sister, Libby Nance; his son, John Paul William Winstead and his dog and best friend, "Roscoe".
