Services for Ms. Opal "Nell" Chesney will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church. Bro. Josh Lang, Bro. Jackie Strebeck and Bro. Lin Chesney will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held 9:30-11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church.

Husband of 55 years: Larry Chesney

1 Daughter: Dawn Chesney

2 Grandchildren: Zack Pigg (Shelby) and Megan Goins (John)

6 Great-Grandchildren: Zachary, Matthew, Luke, Kolbie, Kara, and Isaac

1 Sister: Lexie Dean (George)

2 Brothers: A.Q. Archie and TJ Archie

Pallbearers: Zack Pigg, John Goins, Braxton Dean, Grady Scarborough, Hunter Scarborough and Harold Wayne Boler.

Ms. Chesney is preceded death by: Parents: Buck and Bertha Archie, Daughter: Regina Nance, Granddaughter: Niki Walters, Siblings: Jeanette Page, Mildred Boler and Lois Denison.

Matthew 25:23: "His Lord said unto him well done my good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."

Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing she has been welcomed home. The hands that gardened and held babies are now at rest in Heaven.
