Naomi Faith Davidson, (better known as Aunt Bill) 105, of Walnut Grove passed away at Baptist Hospital Leake, on Tuesday, October 21, 2024.   Visitation will be at Milling Funeral Home in Sebastopol on Friday, October 25th from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. and the funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Don Cook will Officiate the service, assisted by Bro. Ray Files, with burial in High Hill Cemetery following the service.

Born in Leake County on February 8, 1919, she was the daughter of the late George Willis (Bob) and Sally Davidson.  It was her Dad who nicknamed her "Bill".  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mae Langford, Lois Sharp, Betty Upton, Paula Davidson and brothers, Dock Davidson, Charlie Davidson, Rolf Davidson, Eber Davidson, Clyde Davidson, and Doyle Davidson.  She is survived and will be fondly remembered by more than 200 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and at least 2 great – great - great nephews.

She graduated second in her Nursing School Class at Baptist Hospital in Jackson in July 1941, and she was still in training on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, 1941. She worked at Baptist Hospital on night duty for three years; then worked as a private duty nurse with families until about 1951, when she moved to the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Jackson, where she stayed until her retirement in 1979.

She was an active member at High Hill Baptist Church in Leake County, caring for and helping anyone in the community who needed nursing assistance.  The Lord blessed her with a sound mind until the end.  She enjoyed being outdoors, collecting coins and stamps, and organizing all the hundreds of family photos she had made. She loved gospel music and could sit for hours listening to Gaither Homecoming music.  She enjoyed life, provided love and food to all animals that came around, and never complained about anything!

She was witty and kind, and one of the most humble people you would ever know.  She loved the Lord and loved her family.  Her light on earth has gone out, but her goodness still shines over us.  She was a force for good in this world and Heaven will be a better place now that she is there.  Special thanks and great appreciation goes to her caregiver, Ms. Mary Ann Harvey and her helpers, Ms. Bonnie Longmire and Ms. Mary Frances Collier.  Memorials may be made to High Hill Baptist Church, 10021 Road 206, Philadelphia, MS 39350, High Hill Cemetery Fund, 2506 Dennis Road, Walnut Grove, MS 39189 or the Charity of your choice.
