A memorial service for Ms. Melody Lynn Rose will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 23, 2021 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Bro. Rusty Walton will officiate.

Visitation will be held 10:30-11:00 am on Friday prior to memorial service at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union.

Ms. Melody Rose, 63, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 18th,  2021 in Meridian, Ms. surrounded by family.

The lights  of her life, granddaughter: Erika Marie and grandson Ramsey Walker all of Little Rock,  Ms.

Sister:  Iris Rose Williamson

Niece: Katie Williamson

Nephew:  Colton ( April ) Williamson

4 Great-Nephews: Mason, Evan, Cash and Grayson Williamson all of Florence, Ms.

She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents: George Hubert and Mary Ellen Lynn Rose ; grandparents.

Ms. Rose was born in Millington Tn. On September 1st, 1957.  She was a longtime resident of Pearl, Ms. Since 1974. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed visiting different churches. She was formally employed with South Central Bell for years and went to work for The Mississippi Restaurant Hospitality Association for 10 plus years before having to retire because of health issues.  She was a former Girl Scout #583 troop leader in Pearl for several years.  Ms. Rose was well known for her fabulous desserts she made during the holidays.  Family members would meet her at the door and take them, just to hide them from others not wanting to share.  She was a terrific cook and loved sharing recipes.  She also enjoyed crocheting and often jokingly referred to herself as a middle-aged hooker because she always had a crochet hook in her hand. She loved making precious hats, blankets and other unique items for family and others only as gifts, never for sale. She faithfully crocheted hats and scarves for The Special Olympics participants and homeless shelters.  She absolutely adored babies and could hold babies for a entire day.   She held a deep love for her family and will be lovingly remembered and missed tremendously.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Special Olympics Team or donate a needed item to a local shelter for the less fortunate. The family would like to extend their most heartfelt Thanks to Regional Anderson 2nd floor team for the love, support and kindness extended to her and family during her short stay there.
