Funeral Services for Matthew "Matt" Bishop will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Sebastopol Baptist Church. Bro. Michael Smith will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Sebastopol Baptist Church on Saturday from 10:30-12 noon and also from 1:30 - 2:30 prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Sebastopol City Cemetery.

Mr. Bishop, 64, of Sebastopol, passed away Thursday November 6, 2025 at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson.

Matt was a 1980 graduate of Sebastopol High School. His most recent career was with MDOT Maintenance - Philadelphia Division, which he began in 2014 and worked as long as his health allowed. Matt was a member of Sebastopol Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

His Wife of 40 years: Jill Bishop

Two Daughters: Lindsey Harrison (Drew),  Lydia Bishop

Grandchildren: Judah, Ollie, Colbie

Siblings: Kevin Bishop, Mike Bishop (Sharon), Mark Bishop, Beth Gregory (Matt)

Brother-in-law: Bobby Sevin

He  is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bishop is preceded in death by: Parents W.C. "Bill" & Wanda Bishop ; Sister: Terry Sevin.

Pallbearers will be: Marc Leach, Mickey Fugitt, Scott Bishop, Richie Thrash, Jason McDill, Jonathan Killens, Joe Lee, Chris McDill

Honorary Pallbearers will be: George Amis, Jr. and the Men and Women of  the Philadelphia MDOT Maintenance Division.

The family requests that in Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital.
