A Celebration of Life for Kay Townsend (Mammaw Kay) will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022 at 3:00pm at Pine Forest Baptist Church of Collinsville. Bro. Andy May and Bro. TJ Jennings will officiate the service.

Mrs. Townsend, 79 died Thursday, March 10 at her home.

Kay was well known in the Collinsville community and loved everyone that she encountered. She served as Director of Pine Forest Baptist Church Christian Daycare and Kindergarten for 30 years before retiring. She loved working in her yard and decorating for all occasions. She was known by many as an avid salt and pepper shaker collector. Kay loved to show off her "Shaker Shake", which included all her salt and pepper shakers from all over the world. She was an active member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and served on many committees throughout the years, including their Body and Soul Ministry for shut-ins.

Survivors include:

Her Husband of 61 years, Lowry (Biscuit) Townsend

Daughter: Lori Ann Rice (David) of Fellowship

Granddaughters: Mindi Alexander (Jeremy) and Summer Demetris (Adrian) both of Collinsville

Great- Grandchildren: Parker Nelson, Payton Alexander, Gibson Demetris, and Gadsden

Alexander all of Collinsville.

Siblings: Sister, Sherry Lawson (Bob); and Brother, Danny Luke (Melanie) both of Collinsville

Numerous Nieces and Nephews

She is preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Kay; Parents, Percy and Edra Luke, and Brothers, Glynn, Mike, and Jackie Luke.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the Pine Forest Baptist Church Building Fund or the Gideon Bible Ministry.
