On February 2, 2026, Karen Sue Gilmore was called home where her worldly body was healed.   Karen was born on August 10, 1940 to Willie Odell and Ora Mae Brewer Gilmore in Neshoba County Mississippi.  Karen was a very happy and loved young lady.  She loved her Lord, her family, and friends.  She never met a stranger and loved to sing gospel music.  She loved a good hamburger and diet Coca Cola.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Benard Gilmore and Jennings Gilmore, and nephews Ken Gilmore and Tim Gilmore. She is survived by a niece, Patti Gilmore Brooks (Rusty) and two nephews, Jay Gilmore (Tonya) and Donavon Gilmore (Angela); great nieces Megan Brooks, Jade Gilmore, Bailey Gilmore, and Olivia Gilmore; great nephews Christian Brooks, Quint Gilmore, and Will Gilmore; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Karen was a member of High Hill Baptist Church and loved to recall her times there.  Karen had spent many years living at the Ellisville State School and later moved to the Pineview Grove Group Home.  The family wishes to thank all of the counselors, nurses, and staff who have loved and cared for Karen over the years.

A graveside service will be held  at 1:00 pm, Wednesday February 4, 2026 at High Hill Baptist Church
