Ms. June Sharp Sansing, age: 89, of Greenville (Family of Houston, TX) passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
June was born in 1932 in Neshoba County to Ray and Viola Sharp. She was raised and educated in Sebastopol, Mississippi graduating high school in 1950. She attended nursing school in New Orleans and Rush Hospital in Meridian receiving her RN degree. She worked at Laird Hospital in Union, the University of Mississippi campus infirmary, Ponotoc Hospital, and Singing River Hospital throughout her nursing career. In 1960, she dedicated her time to raising her family. In 1984, June obtained her Mississippi Realtor license and later her broker license. She worked for two local realtors in Greenville, MS before opening her own real estate company, Mainstream Realty.
June, with her husband John, were co-owners of Mainstream Shipyard in Greenville, MS. She was very involved with the American Waterways Operators (AWO) committees and the Marine Chemist Association.
She was an outstanding cook feeding her children's friends often, an excellent seamstress sewing for her family and friends, possessed a green thumb for growing antique roses, and loved refinishing and upholstering furniture. She was truly talented in many ways. But of all her accomplishments, her greatest joy was being Mimi to her grandchildren and great grands devoting all her energy to babysitting, making sure they had "pocket money" and attending their activities.
She is survived by son John W (Holly) Sansing, Jr of Pasadena, Texas; daughter Jobyna Sansing France of Greenville; daughter-in-law Linda Sansing of Clear Lake, Texas, four granddaughters Rebekah (Burt) Caraway, Tara Sansing, Lauren Sansing, Caroline France, and grandson Zachary Sansing.
She is also survived by three great-grandchildren Madison Ann Sansing, Coers Caraway, and Pierce Caraway, and one sister Marion Sharp Winstead, brother Sherman Sharp, and sister-in-law Patsy McCraw.
She lives behind several nieces and nephews.
The family extends much gratitude to Cynthia Woods, her devoted companion and caregiver, Dr. Michael Cirilli and his wonderful staff, and the DRMC Hospice team, especially Sara Jones.
June is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John W Sansing, their son
Tony Sansing, and her parents.
