Throughout his time there, the company changed hands, becoming Rexel, Inc, and Larry worked his way up the wholesale electrical supply ladder, so-to-speak. Upon his retirement, he was Operations Manager and Southern Division REGIS Operations Manager.
On August 25, 1970, he married Candace 'Candy' Brewer in Laurel, MS; they were married for almost 44 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Candy Brewer, and his parents, James Allen and Jewel Holland Brewer.
Larry is survived by his children, Candace Smith of Columbus MS, Eric Brewer of Little Rock, MS, and Layla Gilbert of Collinsville, MS; his sons-in-law, Bryan Smith and Daryl Gilbert; his daughter-in-law, Dana Brewer; his sisters Gail Herron of Laurel, MS, Judy Quave of Robert, LA, and Nancy Andrews of Opelika, AL; his brothers-in-law Richard Herron, Joey Quave, and Billy Andrews, his grandchildren Brantley and Brylee Smith of Columbus, MS, Ana Bishop and her husband Erick of Gulfport, MS, Brooke Nichols and her husband Nathaniel of Brandon, MS, and Kamryn Gilbert of Brandon, MS; and one great-grandchild Adalynn Bishop of Gulfport, MS; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers are Eric Brewer, Bryan Smith, Brantley Smith, Daryl Gilbert, Billy Brewer, Chad Christian, Doug Phillips, and Doyle White.
Poet Pam Brown once wrote, "Dads are the most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, storytellers, and singers of song." That was Larry. He cherished his time with his wife and children, and his smile will be forever missed.
The family would like to extend their deepest and sincerest thanks for all of your prayers.
