Frankie Mae Gomillion Hoxsey passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2025, joining the love of her life, Clifford Mills Hoxsey Jr., for a heavenly embrace.

Frankie was born on May 3,1938 in Sebastopol, Miss., the daughter of Dewitt Talmadge Gomillion and Willie Mae Gomillion.
Through the years, she spoke fondly of her rural roots, cherishing the memories of family gatherings, flavorful foods prepared with garden-fresh ingredients and a pinch of love and the welcoming nature of good, ol' Southern hospitality.

Frankie first met Cliff at Salem Church, where they were later married on April 6, 1957. Cliff's Navy and Air Force careers took them and their daughters, Terry, Cher and Sandy, across the world, including visits to Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria before settling in Cape Coral, Fl.
But Frankie's heart always remained with her beloved Magnolia State. She returned to her hometown to visit family and friends as often as possible, and sometimes would included an add on side trip to the GoGo Chateau-their rustic retreat up in the mountains of North Carolina.
Perhaps nothing made her happier than being "Nana'' to grandchildren Kayhlin, Dawn, Cam, Brittini, Nicole, Trey, Coda and Jess and great grandchildren Cliff, Tristan, Marley, Alice, Coy, Laken, Ella, Samuel, Sunny, and Evie.
"Come here and give Nana some sugar,'' she'd call to a grandchild in her sweet, Southern twang before planting a kiss followed up by a warm embrace.

Frankie is survived by her daughters and her sisters, Fae Watkins and Sue Herrington.

Frankie will be laid to rest at 11:00 am, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 at Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church
