Obituary

Sebastopol:
Memorial Services for Mr. Evan Kersgaard will be held 2 pm, Friday, September 10, at Milling Funeral Home of Sebastopol.
Family will receive friends from one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Bro. Larry Duncan will officiate.

Evan Kersgaard was born and raised in Eugene Oregon to Ernest and Arlene Kersgaard.  He was the youngest of 4 siblings.  As a young man with a sense of adventure and an interest in seeing different places, he moved to the Grand Canyon, Arizona and worked there for several years. While there, he enjoyed hiking around the canyon and riding his motorcycle while enjoying the majestic views in the area.    In 1989, he married Tammy Jones, who was also working at the Grand Canyon.  They lived in Northern Arizona for a few years, then moved back to Tammy's home state of Mississippi.

They lived in Morton, Mississippi for 20 years, and raised their children Daniel Adam Kersgaard and Hannah Elizabeth Kersgaard there.  Evan was a family man, always interested and involved in what his children were doing, whether it was attending soccer games or band concerts.   In 2010, they moved near Sebastopol, Mississippi on land that had been in Tammy's family for 3 generations.

Evan always enjoyed seeing new places.  Whether a day trip, a weekend trip, or a nice long road trip, Evan was always ready to go on an adventure.  He was happiest being with his family, whether home or on the road, and enjoyed looking forward to the next trip.

Evan Kersgaard, 58, died Thursday, August 19, 2021.  His is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tammy Jones of Sebastopol, his son Daniel Kersgaard and wife Meghan of Brandon, and their child James Kersgaard, his daughter Hannah Kersgaard of Sebastopol, his sister Jan Kersgaard of Eugene, OR, his brother Eric Kersgaard and wife Nan of Noti, OR, his brother Scot Kersgaard and wife Lois Witte of Lakewood, CO.  He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Kersgaard was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Arlene Kersgaard.
