UNION: Services for Mr. E L Thorne will be held 11 am, Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Clarke Venable Baptist Church with burial in the Decatur City Cemetery. Rev. Mark Vincent will officiate.

Visitation will be held 10 am- 11 am, Saturday at Clarke Venable Baptist Church.

Mr. Thorne, age 94, of Decatur died Sunday, March 16, 2025.

He was employed with La-Z-Boy for over 40 years and served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean Veteran.

Survivors:

2 Sons: Eddie Thorne (Vickie) and Johnnie Thorne

1 Daughter: Emily Williams (Bruce)

Grandchildren: Alan Williams (Janetta), Anthony Williams (Elizabeth), Nolan Thorne (Katie), Charles Thorne (Bella), Nathaniel Thorne (Kirbi) and Nicole Clark (Christian)

Great Grandchildren: Alice, Eloise, Edith, Cadence, Greyson, Beckham, Patton, Sawyer and Shep

1 Brother: Curtis Thorne (Nancy)

1 Sister: Eva Jean Glenn

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thorne is preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Hendrix Thorne; three brothers; daughter in law, Laura Thorne; parents, Willie Thorne and Bessie Johnson Thorne.
