Services for Mr. Douglas Henry Gainey will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Sebastopol. Burial will be held at Morrow Cemetery. Rev. Steve Bullion will officiate.

Visitation will be held 12:30- 2:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service.

Douglas Henry Gainey born December 19, 1940 in Conehatta MS. He passed away at his home in Jackson MS to his heavenly home on 2/22/2020. He is now home with his Lord and Savior.

Survivors: Wife of 59 years: Patsy Gainey

2 Daughters: Debra (Lee) Bell of Florence

Regina (Mark) Holmgren of Terry

1 Son :Scotty (Misty) Gainey of Florence

2 Fur Babies: Bud and BoBo

7 Grandchildren: Russell (Brigette) Bell, Telisa (Jeremy) Posey, Cassie (Brian) Hall, Walker Clark, Will Clark, Hunter Gainey and Ben Pruitt

He also had many many great grandchildren that were so precious to him.

He was a very loved Pawpaw. Not only was he a husband, daddy and a Pawpaw to his family; but he was a devoted friend and mentor to many others. He will be truly missed. Mr Gainey ran the good race and fought the good fight. His body was worn, his mind was tired; but his soul was eager to see his Heavenly Father. He worked 32 years with the City of Jackson Water Department. He started his career as a heavy equipment operator and he retired as the director over the water maintenance division. He held a National Water Workers License most all those years. He was a member of the Elton Woods Church of God for over forty years, where he held the positions of Church Clerk and was a member of the pastor council. During that time he also maintained the church and the church grounds. He loved to hunt, fish, camp and just spend time with his family. One of the things he enjoyed the most was to drive any one of his many tractors.
