Union:

Mr. Donald Vardaman Vance, age 77, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024.

Mr. Donald Vardaman Vance was born in Union, MS June 1, 1947. He was born to the late Vardaman Vance and Jewel Tatum Vance who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his Daughter: Beth Ramsey (Richard), two grandchildren: Alex Henson and Molly Ramsey, his Sister: Geneva Vance Nelson, and her two children: Kimberly Nelson Bartholomae and Keith Thomas Nelson.

Don was a 1965 graduate of Starkville High School and a graduate of Clarke Memorial College. He went on to serve many years in the Army National Guard. Don spent many years working for the Mississippi School for the Blind and volunteering for the bus ministry at Parkway Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. He was a security guard for Pendleton Detectives for many years, in multiple locations throughout MS, and then went on to be a campus security officer at East Central Community College in Decatur, MS, where he retired.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 am, Saturday, June 13, 2024 at Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church (590 Pete Freeman Rd. Union, MS 39365). Rev. Clifton Curtis will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Nelson, Will Nelson, Ryan Davis, Kenny Thornton, Stanton Cole, and Jeptha Cole.

Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Bartholomae.
