Union:

Services for Mr. Clifton Rush will be held 3 pm, Monday, August 5, 2019 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Lin Chesney, Bro. Rusty Walton, and Bro. John Rush will officiate.

Visitation will be held 1:30 pm- 3 pm, Monday, August 5, 2019 at the church.

Mr. Rush, 88, of Union, died on July 31, 2019 at his residence.

2 Sons: Elbert "Sonny" Rush and wife Connie of Beaverton, MI

Dennis Rush of Flint, MI

3 Grandchildren: Chris Rush, Melissa Beadia and husband Derek; Autumn Bishop and husband Shannon

1 Brother: Jerome Rush and wife Margaret of Union

Mr. Rush was preceded in death by his parents, Nilon and Ruby Rush; wife, Norma Rush; one brother, Jerrell Rush.

Clifton Rush loved his family, his siblings, sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the love of his life, his wife of nearly 60 years, Norma. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and illustrated Christian values by quietly helping many people in their time of need. Often paying for their medications and in more than one case cancer and medical treatments. He asked nothing in return. He would give the shirt off his back to a friend or loved one. He was a tremendous sportsman and taught his sons to hunt, fish; instilling the values of conservation and sportsmanship in them. Clifton was a profound admirer of hunting dogs. He loved foxhounds, tree dogs, bird dogs and spent decades breeding some of the best beagles in the country. Clifton was a noted athlete in his youth and played basketball at House H.S. He was a tremendous and feared baseball player in the East Mississippi Independent League in its heyday. He encouraged his two boys in sports, spent many hours teaching them and never missed one of their football games. He served his Country in the Korean War in the U.S. Army's 17th Field Artillery "Persuaders" C-Battery. Clifton Rush was a great man, a great father and a tremendous human being. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
