A funeral service for Ms. Carrie Elizabeth "Betty" Dewitt will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Milling Funeral Home of Union from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Bill Rose and Bro. Mike Powell officiating.
Carrie Elizabeth "Betty" Dewitt, 72, of Union, MS passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025 at Baptist Anderson Hospital of Meridian, MS.
Born on December 10, 1952 in Newton, MS, Carrie was the daughter of Robert and Martha Blass. She graduated from Beulah Hubbard High School in 1970. She attended Mississippi College and then Matty Hersee, where she achieved her RN degree. She worked in the medical field for over 40 years. Carrie was married to Bernard Lee "Bubba" Dewitt, Jr.
Her hobbies included coloring, cross stitching, playing games on her phone, playing the piano, singing and spending time with her family.
Carrie is survived by:
2 daughters: Casey Randall (James) and Melody Gilbert (James)
1 son: Jason Dewitt (Victoria)
8 Grandchildren: Austin Randall (Paige), Haley Randall, Jami Randall, Katelyn Dewitt, Breeanna Dewitt, Kimberly Edwards, Stephanie Smith (Chris) and Jordyn Moorehead (Taylor)
6 great-grandchildren: Ella Randall, JB Randall, Hazel Todd, Isaiah Todd, Sadie Smith and Paisley Grace Smith
2 sisters: Charlotte Rose (Bill) and Karen McMahan (Mickey)
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Dewitt was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Martha Blass; brother, Wayne Blass; her grandparents, as well as aunts and uncles.
