On Friday, June 9, 2023, Mrs. Allie Mae (Byram) Creel joyfully entered her heavenly home.
She was 105 years old.
Waiting for her there was her husband of sixty seven years: William F. (Buck) Creel, her parents: Walter and Dollie (Phillips) Byram, eleven siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Creel was born on May 30, 1918 in Newton County, Mississippi. At the age of two her family moved to the Salem Community in Leake County where she lived until April 1, 1937 when she married. She and her husband moved to Neshoba County where they were share croppers for a number of years. They purchased their own farm in Scott County in 1944 where she lived out her life, farming and running a dairy business with her husband all while being an excellent homemaker, wife, and mother. She was active in her community and church where she taught Sunday school and VBS for years. The Ladies Missionary Union was very special to her as was the prayer room at her church. In her later years when she was no longer able to teach, she became a staunch prayer warrior and was active in Sebastopol Baptist Church. She spent the last few years of her life in Madison County Nursing Home.
She leaves a wonderful legacy of a life lived in service to God, her family, and her friends. She often said her greatest source of pride was her family. She was devoted to them as they were to her.
She is survived by two daughters: Rita Lott (Tommy) of Brandon and Peggy Clark (Ted) of Madison, four grandchildren: Tonya Myers, Tony Alexander (Gwen), Melanie Dollar (Ken), and Kara Nugent (David), six great-grandchildren: Josh Myers (Haley), Brady Dollar, Tanner Dollar, Jade Alexander, John David Nugent, and Will Nugent, and two great great-grandchildren: Peter Myers and Dorothy Myers.
The family wishes to thank Gaynelle Countryman, Kay Thornton, and Betty Viverette and the Administration and staff of Madison County Nursing Home for their care for Mrs. Creel in her final years.
Pallbearers: Billy Paul Davidson, Al Easom, Herbert Bounds, Clint Wright, Ben Byram, and Hal Creel
